cricket resumes!

After a week long tension due to the mumbai terror attacks, England’s cricket tour of India resumes. The one day series was anyways called off in the middle. The ECB has given the ‘go’ for the two test match series, after changing the venues to be Chennai and Mohali.

The Indian test team for this series was announced. Yuvraj Singh and Pragyan Ojha get a call. RP Singh was dropped while M. Vijay and S. Badrinath were retained.

A 2-0 result against the under-prepared England team would be a wonderful way to end the year for the Dhoni’s men.

calling all pakistanis

An interesting article by Thomas L. Friedman in NY Times regarding the recent mumbai terror attacks.

After all, if 10 young Indians from a splinter wing of the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party traveled by boat to Pakistan, shot up two hotels in Karachi and the central train station, killed at least 173 people, and then, for good measure, murdered the imam and his wife at a Saudi-financed mosque while they were cradling their 2-year-old son — purely because they were Sunni Muslims — where would we be today? The entire Muslim world would be aflame and in the streets.

same incident – the other side’s view

Mumbai terror attacks – the same incident viewed differently, from both the sides of the border. While we know what is coming out from most of the world’s media , this one is very interesting 😉 Found this video in youtube, of a program in a pakistani news channel. It is being claimed that mumbai terror attacks were a plan of American, Israeli and the Indians! The speaker also claims the involvement of Mossad.

With time and with Rice’s visit to pakistan, it will come to know what steps Pakistan government takes (if it takes). Will be interesting to watch the new updates, may be these speakers will come up with a new “intelligent” story.

mumbai peace march

Hundreds of mumbaikars, gathered in Gateway Of India for a peace march on 3rd Dec. Shouting slogans, against the politicians and holding placards, it was a show of solidarity. Clearly, the public are angry at the inability and irresponsible behavior of the ‘Netas’
Below are some of the pictures (and placards) taken during the march, from a fwd-ed email.
